Our region’s wild public lands — Joshua Tree National Park, the Agua Tibia and San Jacinto wilderness areas, Beauty Mountain, Cahuilla Mountain, and South Fork San Jacinto—are known the world over. The only way to ensure their survival for future generations to enjoy is working through Congress for their protection.
Designating the region’s crown jewels as wilderness and wild and scenic rivers will keep these beautiful steep mountains, winding canyons, and rugged desert landscapes just as they are today. These areas will be preserved for residents and visitors to enjoy hiking, camping, rock climbing, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, or just as they drive by.
The California Desert and Mountain Wilderness Campaign is a locally-based coalition of individuals, organizations and businesses working together to protect some of Riverside County’s most important wild lands and rivers.
